Get Involved

  • On average, more than three women a day are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in the United States.
  • One in three adolescent girls in the United States is a victim of abuse from a dating partner - a figure that far exceeds victimization rates for other types of violence affecting youth.
  • 275 million children worldwide are exposed to violence in the home.

Domestic abuse is more than a family issue, it's a community's issue. Help us end this epidemic. Get involved today.

Let me tell you about Amanda

Amanda and her children lived in constant fear after suffering years of physical and emotional abuse. In fact, her husband threatened to kill her and their children if she ever told anyone or tried to leave.

That fear immobilized Amanda for a very long time, but one day she found the courage to reach out to Safe Haven for help.

What is an E-Angel?

An E-Angel is an individual who has access to e-mail and wants to be informed when Safe Haven has specific, urgent, modest ($25 to $150) needs that we would like to meet (car repair, utility bill, bus tickets, etc.). Our E-Angels have the option to respond only to those needs they choose and only as much as they choose.

Volunteers Make the Difference!

Last year, 53 individuals logged 2,343 volunteer hours for Safe Haven. When you volunteer for Safe Haven, you are making a direct impact on the lives of the women and children we serve.

Safe Haven has many volunteer opportunities available, from one-time shelter or office projects to longer-term project coordinator positions. Use your skills, connect with others, and help Safe Haven bring hope and healing to women and children in need.

Donating your cell phone helps Safe Haven help survivors of domestic abuse!  Now accepting used iPads and iPods too!

It’s Easy!
Step 1: Drop off your used cell phone(s), iPads and iPods to Safe Haven’s office.
Step 2: Safe Haven sends them to Shelter Alliance for recycling.
Step 3: Funds are raised to support Safe Haven’s programs.

Wish List

Safe Haven relies on the generous gifts of donors and friends to help us serve abused women and their children. This wish list includes items needed for our shelter, by families we see outside of shelter, and by women and children residing at our shelter.
