Raise Hope: Domestic Abuse Education and Prevention

Raise Hope is Safe Haven’s community outreach and education program, aimed at raising awareness, informing, supporting, and educating the community on issues of domestic abuse. Through Raise Hope, Safe Haven offers a variety of presentations and can provide a speaker to visit your school, church, or business. Presentations can be tailored to suit any group and nearly every age level. Examples of presentations we offer regularly include:

Safe Dating

A Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program for Teens

Nearly 40% of teenage girls, ages 14 to 17, know someone their age who has been hit or beaten by their partner. Our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program is designed to help teens define healthy relationships, learn signs of dating violence and how to get help if they are in an abusive relationship.

Cut It Out

Presentations for Salon Professionals

A surprising number of women feel more comfortable revealing domestic abuse to their hairstylist than anyone else in their lives. Our Cut It Out presentations are designed to raise salon professional’s awareness of domestic abuse and to equip them with the resources and knowledge to appropriately respond to a woman who is experiencing abuse.

Domestic Violence Orientation

For Prospective Volunteers, Faith Leaders, or Anyone Interested in Learning More about Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is an issue that is seldom discussed openly. Our Domestic Violence Orientation is a three-hour education and awareness-building seminar offered to the general public designed to help members of the community gain a better understanding of domestic abuse. Two sessions a year are specifically geared to address faith issues and domestic abuse.

Church Presentations

Safe Haven regularly makes presentations for churches during worship services, education hours, bible studies and fellowship groups. We also offer faith leaders specific training in domestic abuse.

Business Presentations

We offer domestic abuse education presentations to local businesses, as well as domestic abuse training to direct service staff. When our community is informed about domestic abuse, we can work together to end it.
